SSE Enterprise Utilities has been delivering heat to residential and commercial properties for many years. We provide an end-to-end heating and cooling network service for an ever-expanding portfolio of projects, while continually making sure that we’re investing in a more sustainable future for all.
We can design, build, operate, and maintain networks; we can also simply operate and maintain existing networks – whatever is required. But when we’re part of the design and build, we make sure we’re building for the long term, so your network will be resilient and reliable, at the same time as helping you to meet carbon targets.
We work closely with private and public sectors to provide an end-to-end heat network service. Helping them to reduce costs, improve comfort, and lower carbon emissions.
In SSE Enterprise Utilities, you get a partner for the long-term, backed up the expertise and resources of the wider SSE Group, as well as a dedicated, specialist customer service team.
We’re active in promoting regulation and supporting increasing design standards across the industry.
SSE Enterprise Utilities is in a unique position in that we are able to offer significant capital investment into your heating and/or cooling network schemes, all based on a long-term asset ownership model. If it suits, we’ll work closely with you to develop an investment proposal.
Of course, this means that SSE takes on a number of the key project risks that would otherwise lie with you – including energy price fluctuations, plant failure, and more.
If you want to get into contact with us regarding a project then please find and fill out our Project Detail Request form to help us in tailoring an offer to you.
At the ADE Conference in September 2020 we had two projects nominated for an award. These awards are ‘the leading and most prestigious Awards for those involved in decentralised energy, recognising and celebrating the people and projects which have developed innovative decentralised energy solutions designed around the needs of the user.’
We were nominated for the ‘Innovative Heat Design Award’ and the ‘Recognising Resilience Award’ for our heat pumps project at Wandsworth Riverside Quarter and our Customer Service team’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, respectively.
You can watch the video showcases for these projects in the further information box to the right.
SSE Enterprise Utilities has a strong track record for our heating and cooling network services, and district heating schemes are increasingly playing a part in that.
We work closely with local authorities to build, own, operate, and maintain district heating networks, keeping the end-user tariffs and fuel poverty targets front-of-mind at all times. Our end-to-end service also includes long-term, high quality customer services.
“It gives us confidence that the installation, which is a very complicated installation, is going to be maintained and looked after for our residents over the next 25 years and that there’s a strategy going forward to deal with any replacement. It gives them a sense of security going forward.”
“There is absolutely no doubt that this district heating scheme will make a huge difference to the lives of hundreds of tenants living in Wyndford by significantly cutting their bills for heating and hot water.”
“Elmsbrook is setting the benchmark for zero carbon homes of the future by demonstrating how sustainable living can bring investment, employment and improved lifestyles for all without compromising on quality or comfort. The district heat network and Energy Centre are an integral feature of the vision for Elmsbrook and we are delighting to be working with SSE, a company which shares our core values of sustainability and customer service excellence.”
“SSE Enterprise Utilities has provided valuable technical input which is based on its experience and learning from running heat schemes elsewhere. Their experience in looking after heat customers combined with their significant customer service infrastructure was also very important to us.”
